Gene, are you refering to the atomisers on the 4.107? I've got the old parts book and workshop manual for the 4.107. It says the earlier atomisers are held on by a locking nut and the lastest by two nuts. There's a copper washer between the atomiser and the recess in the cylinder head. They recommend a new washer be used if the atomiser is removed for any reason, but no talk of special tools required for removal or installation. Good luck.

Sometimes they require a soft knock to get them out of the bores. You can take the injectors to be tested at any diesel repair place. They will test the fuel pop-off pressure and the pattern. If they require rebuild, that is where the special tools come in for some types of injectors.

OK, thanks for the info.

I am convinced that they are baked into the "bore".

I will soak in penetrating oil and try again.
