Subject: When to reduce ot Alter sail going upwind?

On my FUJI 32, it seems to sail its best hard upwind while heeling 10 to 25 degrees. With the FUJI full keel & shallow draft 3'8 ", at what heel angle does the side slip become excessive? How much does sail draft effect
side slip via the out haul tension?

Just kidding! Great to see you here. I can't give you an absolute answer. For example, I do not use a traveller. But 25 degrees of heel is about right for hard to windward with your hull..or sounds right anyway.

I rekkon GPS to a known waypoint then a VMG number is the only way to tell....or use a plotting chart.

You could also find your correct compass settings compared with the GPS-flat motoring, no wind, then sail the compass course and compare your two headings again.
