Subject: engine ground wire

I have an volvo mb2b diesel engine, I noticed that while cranking over the engine the other day the grounding wiring was getting red at the lug. The connection is tight, so what's going on? The groung wire goes to the neg. side of the batery bank. Does any one have a answer for me? Thanks, Jake.

Clean your connections also, I would change the ground cable just to be safe.

Yikes! That must have been a scary moment. How big is your wire and how well is the lug attached? Check the crimps for sure and use a sufficiently sized wire. (I know that stuff is outrageously priced.)
