Subject: Summer rendezvous

Just wondering if anyone was thinking about a summer rendezvous? There wasn't one last year, and the year before I diddn't know about the web site. It would be nice to compare notes, it seems like I've rebuilt about every system on this boat... Gordon - SV Trieste

[> "Rendezvous" anyone ??? -- Bill Kranidis, - Thursday - 06/22/06 - 11:44am

Hi Gordon.

It seems the most logical region for a Rendezvous, is Southern California (Biggest concentration of Mariners). If you folks are interested and have any ideas of time and place we can post and see the results. Reply to this post, to see what reaction we get. Fire away........

Best,
Bill

Randall, et. al.
I'm in Detroit Michigan (and the city isn't real user friendly) and I know I'm the only confirmed M-40 around for a couple hundred miles. I think the Fagel's are in upper MI, and Mike is down in Tennessee (I think)? I wouldn't mind sponsoring it, but I think only one boat would be pretty dull. I don’t know the census on the East Coast, but southern Cal might be our best bet? I’d be happy just to look at another Mariner, let alone a whole group of us….

[> A Nest of Mariners! Cool -- John & Jan, - Friday - 06/23/06 - 7:03pm

Jan and I are finally tying the knot on July 27th at the Maritime Museum on board HMS Surprise (the boat from Master & Commander) here and then we're sailing off on Santa Teresa for our honeymoon. (We honestly looked around but couldn't think of any place more romantic than a Mariner Ketch in San Diego Bay!)

If there is anything we could do to facilitate a Mariner Re-Union in So. Cal after that, we'll be glad to help!

[> [> Mariner Rendezvios -- Terry, - Friday - 06/23/06 - 10:38pm

Hi all

I have a Mariner 36 located in San Diego, Chula Vista Marina. I would be interested in meeting and looking at any Mariner yacht.

I have only seen one other Mariner here in San Diego.

If anyone is interested in rafting up you can email me anytime.

Hope to hear from you.

Terry, that's great. Have you seen the sea turtles down there? Jan and I have Santa Teresa moored off the Coronado Bridge. We don't get down to south bay much (don't ask but it's a sad story about ... "Hey John, we're not moving." "Gosh honey, you're right. Where is that depth finder...") Bring your sander and swing by F11 (the southwest corner of the mooring field).... We'd love to do a raft up in Gloretta.

Hey, we may have the start of a rendezvous here...

Cheers,
John & Jan

[> rendevous -- Pete, - Tuesday - 06/27/06 - 7:45pm

Although my boat is in dry dock and will be for the forseeable future, I'm in Seattle and would love to see a rendevous nearer my home. :)

Keep us posted though on the progress of this wonderful idea.

[> [> Puget Sound Rendezvous -- Craig Anderson, - Saturday - 07/ 1/06 - 12:18am

Pete,
I counted about 8 Mariners scattered around Puget Sound, and I know of one that isn't a member of this list. An informal gathering of Mariners could happen.

I'd love to see a Mariner gathering in Puget Sound. Sadly however, my boat will be out of commission this summer (deck repairs). Let me know what I can do to help move such a meeting along.

I'll look up all the local owners and send you half the list, if you'd like to help getting some feedback on people's interest.
Carrie and I thought Kingston on Labor Day weekend would be a good choice.

I'm the new owner of M-32 "Pyxis" homeport Tacoma. Unfortunately the boat will not be ready for a trip by Labor Day weekend but I would love to get together with other Mariner owners in the area. Please add me to the list that you are making for this. Thanks.

[> Landlocked on a Large Lake -- Lawrence Killingsworth, - Wednesday - 06/28/06 - 11:05am

Hey, Pete, I've got a Mariner 40 (Ta' Ata Ori) on Lake Pend Oreille in northern Idaho. That's a lot closer to you than San Diego. You could drive over and do some varnishing. What fun!

[> Rendezvouw -- Robyn Jones, - Sunday - 08/27/06 - 4:07pm

Is there a rendezvous happening in Puget Sound on Labor Day weekend? Last I see on the forum here is that Kingston, Labor Day weekend, was the place to be. Our boat is still on the hard, but we'd make it there in our dinghy if need be.
Sounds like there are others in dry dock as well... maybe a dry rendezvous with photos and plenty of spirits...

[> [> Puget Sound Gathering -- Craig M31 Hibou, - Wednesday - 08/30/06 - 8:30pm

Since I didn't get much of a responce to my inquiry we decided to not plan a gathering but left an open invitation to join us in Poulsbo Labor Day weekend. We're ready to sail Friday afternoon, and the bar is stocked aboard Hibou.
We hope to see all of you in the area there, with or without your boats.

Craig and Carrie

[> San Diego -- Terry, - Monday - 08/28/06 - 7:56pm

I am still interested in getting a group together here in San Diego. Even if it is in a slip only. I am in Chula Vista Marina but have just about made "Matang" sea worthy again. Looking to take her out soon.

Let me know if anyone is intersted

Thanks

Terry
