Subject: pulling perkins 4-107 fuel injectors

Hello: Has anyone ever pulled the injectors off their perkins 4-107 motor? I have a leak and need to do so. I unbolted the fuel rail and undid the two nuts that hold the injector to the head...and disconnected the fuel input conection, but the injectors don't come out with a gentle tug like the would on a fuel injeted gas car..??? do I need to use force? I won't pry on them till I'm sure its needed.
TIA,
Marcus

Marcus,

You may have to use a lot of force.

I had some hard to turn and soaked them in wd40 and finally discovered "Kroil" which you might do a google on.

I think it is due to the fineness of the threads, but it definitely will take some force.

If it is one of the easeier ones to reach, try tapping on the side of it with a long punch several times to help jar it loose.

Hello and thanks for your reply! What do you mean by the "fine threads"? I am thinking that the only threaded part is the two studs that stick up to anchor the injector into the head through the flange; there are secured by two half inch nuts... the flange itself moves around freely with no problem, but the injector body is non mobile.
thanks for your much needed help, on tuesday I'll call Perkins pacific for some more advice. BTW the galvanized muffler is shot. anyone ever make a replacement muffler??????????
Marcus
