I wasn't actually referring to the part in the article where the author finds himself in a spot of bother; more-so where he tells earlier in the article of another V35 accident after going through a rough storm.
The engine moved forward of it's mountings and altered the center of balance causing it to crash. I would surmise that the plane would still have been powering at the time of impact.
I would like to know Mr. Griggs' opinion as to whether or not this could have been a possible cause for N3794N to crash all those years ago though - it certainly grabbed my attention!
