I've just read the book.I found it hard to put down, and compelling.
I don't want to start a new debate about the rights and wrongs, but from what I have read, I feel that:
I like Buddy Holly even more.He came across as a warm person. Kindhearted and full of fun and life. He had a great sense of humour and I really respect him.
Jerry Allison? I was a bit shocked by the things I read, but I do think that maybe they were all a little too personal. However, if Peggy Sue wanted to tell it how she recalled and had documented, I suppose it had to be included.
Maria-Elena? Clearly, there is no love lost between her and Peggy Sue. They are so very different, and we had known that for a long time. The little facts, such as how nasty she could be, and her strange actions.....well, it paints a strange picture of her, doesn't it?
I could go on and on, but the most important thing is, in my opinion, Buddy came out as a genuinely nice guy, who was very nice and a lot of fun to be around.
My only question is, why on earth did he rush into marriage with Maria Elena like he did?
