 It's sad that but for want of a seatbelt Eddie Cochran might easily be alive today.

Of course, who's to say that Eddie would have worn that seatbelt had one been available? Remember the car crash that killed Princess Diana in 1997. Only one of the four occupants of that car emerged alive, and that person was the only one in the vehicle wearing a seatbelt.
