 Mark, great post from you about the evocative power of 50s music for those of us who grew up with it.

I have to ask you - does the R stand for RichKid?? Nine records for your ninth birthday!! Wow! I was about 13 by then and wouldn't have my first record or record player for another three years when I went out to work.

Was this a difference between booming, prosperous USA and austerity Britain. I guess we were still catching up.
