 Thanks for mentioning Andy Griffith and George Lindsey.
Yes, for me growing up many evenings after dinner were spent with the family watching this show together.
The show was funny, with great characters, and was very well written.
Being from the Southern US I could relate to or knew someone who in real life was like one of the characters.
Not many sitcoms then or now in my opinion can bring generations together for a laugh amd usually a moral while not talking down to it's audience.
I realted Andy's death to the death of an old school teacher or Sunday school teacher from my childhood.
