First, thanks everybody for responding to my question about 1950's full length albums. I have to check some of those out!
If you have not yet suggested any, please see that subject and join in.
This is a bit of an off the wall topic for this board, but honestly, there is a connection. Even if you absolutely despise the idea of what was known as "punk" rock from the 1970's, it did have a connection to the music we love here at Rockin' 50's.
That connection has never been better or more logically explained than during the first 24 minutes of this new BBC documentary. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qm3lo2KWpG0 This is from a new scholarly series of BBC documentaries exploring several musical eras and movements.
The beginning of part one of this topic "Punk Britannia" will delight and entertain even the most conservative of fans on this board, as it reminds us of the last great rock and roll revival period, spearheaded by the film American Graffiti. I expect many of you will tune out after about 24 minutes, but that is OK, the dots have been connected by then.
So, give it a try, I think you will be surprised. Cheers
