I see this thread in a different light than you may imagine, and honestly, I don't know how I could have been so naive. What I am learning from this topic is that there is a much wider circle of serious Buddy Holly researcher/collectors, you could even call them archeologists I suppose, than I ever imagined.
Naturally I assumed that anyone who wrote a book about Holly must have done a lot of research, and I certainly was aware of the U.K. faction of Holly experts, but the idea of an elite group of Indiana Jones style artifact and document hunters never occurred to me.
In other words, I thought Mr. Bill Griggs was was unique not only in his concern for family, fellow musicians and fans of Buddy Holly, but also that he was mostly alone in the field of serious research.
Now that I realize there are others, perhaps many others, the character, quality and generosity of William F. Griggs the man shines even brighter.
