Personally Ben I consider the pre-british invasion days to be the same as the 50's. I consider the mid-to late 50's thru about 1963 to be the same sound. I really don't feel like the style of early rock took a dramatic change until after 1964. I don't ever hardly hear guys like Ricky Nelson, Neil Sedaka or the everly brothers on 60's stations. At my small summer home town is a little locally owned radio station and they play anything from the ear.y doo woo 50's all the way to the 1980's! It is a really great station. Just today I heard Ritchie Valen's come on let's go and they play Chantilly lace all the time! Of course this is not Sirius radio, but I find it pretty hard to find 50's music on my local radio stations. And even more rare for them to devout whole hour(s) blocks on the stations, WRPO is an unusual radio station to have in my area of Ohio. I hope they stick around for awhile :)
