 Sixty years ago today
The clouds above were dark and grey
Snow was in the air that night
Not the time to take a flight

Midway through the tour from hell
The stress and strain began to tell
The bus was always breaking down
Arriving late in every town
No time to take a wash and rest
But G A C thought they knew best

Buddy did a super show
But at the time we did not know
That when he sung his last refrain
We would never hear his voice again
At twenty two and in his prime
He sung Oh Boy for the very last time

The two hout flight would be no fun
But at least he'd get his washing done
At last, at last a good nights rest
Tomorrow he'd be at his best
But fate was set to play its hand
The plane took off but did not land

When we heard we had to cry
Buddy didn't deserve to die
His memory will last for ever
We'll never forget you Buddy, NEVER.
