This is a good question. My answer would be a combination of both. The internet has provided "short cuts" to some of the collecting but it is not the all-in-one answer to it. One of the negatives to the internet is buying fakes...I know people who have been burned by taking this route. Of course, this can happen with in-person buying too.

Buddy Holly fans are fortunate to have people like (in no particular order) Bill Griggs, Shawn Nagy, Chris Rees, Steve Bonner, John Beecher, Rod Jordan, Tom Reed, Kevin Terry, and Danny Todd, and some others who are "educated" super-fans in certain areas of the life and careers of Buddy Holly and The Crickets. These guys can spot the fake stuff in a second. They are also valuable resource to those who are looking for a particular item. You can trust them to lead you in the right direction. Best of all, each of these guys are simply great people too.

In closing, I would say there are some others who are going to be added to the list above due to their efforts to keep the flame burning...people like Chris Hopkins of England and you Ryan V. I cannot wait to read your book!!!
