Hello Ryan,
As a participant in the old style of collecting i must say that the internet has been a revelation to me in all ways.
For example, i used to go to Brighton for a record fair every three months or so and a friend of mine from Holland named Rudy Van Herck would visit for the fair and bring a selection of records over for me to look at.
Remember that even to see the covers of the record would take ages in those days as Rudy would have to take them to a shop to be photocopied, then he would have to post them to me in England, then wait for me to go through the photocopies, select the ones i needed, get the postal orders, mail off the payment, wait for the payment to get to him, wait for the records to get to me etc, etc, etc.
These days, you can see what you are getting and pay for it in seconds, marvellous.
Also, you have so much access to sellers with the internet, for example, before i had a computer, i had around 55-60 pictures of Ritchie Valens, i now have 170 and counting and know there will be more in the future.
For a collector, you can keep the old way, give me the internet anyday, i love it.
Regards
Chris
