 I agree with you Randy and Rod, this is an excellent question from Ryan.
Most of my items these days come from the web but i do remember with great affection tracking down a lot of pictures pre-internet.
The best time for me was when i travelled to the Victoria and Albert museum in London and spent five hours searching through the Harry Hammond photograph collection.
I was like a kiddie in a sweet shop believe me and even though it took me a year to pay for and recieve the pictures, as i had to pay in instalments, when i did finally get them they were worth all the searching believe me.
The main thing i like about the internet is that you get instant access to so many sellers that have items you want.
When i used to visit the record fairs at Brighton, Croydon and Russell Square in London, 90% of the sellers had items that did not interest me at all but you had to look just in case you missed anything.
I remember i bought the Britt Hagarty - Gene Vincent biography from a Beatles stall?
Great fun when i was younger but too much for me these days.
I too am looking forward to Ryan's book very much because he seems to have the enthusiasm to dig and turn up stones that i do not have time to do these days.
