I have to admit that 'I forgot to remember' is one of those songs that, when I play it, I have to play five or six times, straight-off! Happens with both the Elvis and Johnny Cash version's.
So, to hear a version by Holly would be..... sublime.
There is a record player - the ELP Laser Turntable - that plays 33s, 45s and 78s, using lasers. The manufacturers even claim it will play broken records, if the pieces are placed carefully into the tray!
So, if the disc was popped into one of those, and the sounds passed into a computer, I'm sure the recording could be restored to it's original glory.
I wonder where the record is now.
Oh, by the way, the purchase price of a laser player starts at US$10,000.00!!
