The first time I saw Waylon was in 1966 at the Dallas Memorial Auditorium when Waylon was the opening act for Johnny Cash. I saw Jennings several more times in the late 60s and early 70s at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. I also saw the Crickets opening for Waylon many time in the late 70s and early 80s. The Crickets did some great shows with Waylon at Billy Bobs Texas in Ft. Worth during this time. In 1968 I ask Waylon at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas if he planed to do an all Holly album and he replied that his RCA label mate Skeeter Davis did one.
