The Beach Boys just had the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra treatment. A bunch of their 1960s records remixed with the new backing. It's a trend.

My first reaction upon hearing about this Buddy Holly project was just as cynical as other commenters here. I didn't care for the EVERYDAY version. The TRUE LOVE WAYS version didn't bother me, although the saxophone made me miss Boomie Richman. I was as cynical about the whole thing as everyone else here.

But when I watched the mini-documentary, and saw Larry Holley on his couch talking about RAINING IN MY HEART, it sort of changed my mind. If Larry says Buddy would have loved this, then who am I to judge.

I won't be buying it, but it's nice to know the music is not forgotten.

The long orchestral intro to TRUE LOVE WAYS reminded me of "Days of Future Passed" (the old Moody Blues album). I'm guessing little interludes like this are scattered through the album, although I've only heard the two tracks on youtube.
