Subject: Did you buy "The Buddy Holly Story II" LP?

 More than ten years ago, I would spend long hours every weekend rummaging through old records in second-hand record shops (here in Japan, of course). I often found a copy of "The Buddy Holly Story" LP, but I SELDOM came across "The Buddy Holly Story II" LP. That led me to a sad and simple conclusion: STORY II did much worse in sales than STORY. Most, I believe, of those who had purchased STORY did not buy STORY II. STORY II is more significant than STORY, because it was on STORY II that all of Holly's six "Apartment" original songs first appeared.

QUESTION 1: Did anybody, including Bill, buy "STORY II" LP when it came out in 1960? (Incidentally, did you buy "The Chirpin' Crickets" LP in 1957, his solo LP in 1958, or "STORY" LP in 1959?)

QUESTION 2: Did those who purchased "STORY II" LP in those days know that those six tracks were originally recorded by Buddy Holly alone accompanied with his acoustic guitar in his apartment and then overdubbed later in the studio? If no, then when and how did Buddy Holly fans come to know the fact? I don't think there's any mention about the overdubbing on the back cover of "STORY II" LP. There's just a message by ME.)

I first heard "Peggy Sue Got Married" (the Hansen version) without knowing that it was originally recorded by Buddy alone in his apartment. I hated that version then. Since I learned the fact, however, this song has never sounded the same to me.
