That IS cool!
By sheer chance, I stayed at the Hotel Wolcott in NYC in 2002. After I booked, I discovered that Beltone Studios were situated there somewhere. (I'd love to find out more about where the studio was, as it's been the Hotel Wolcott since 1903. Is the studio STILL there, gathering dust, locked away?)
Some photo's, the ones with the Everly's, Buddy, Giordano, and Murray Deutsch in the hotel room, I often wonder if they were taken in a room there? You would imagine so. I have to say that when I stayed there in 2002, the decor was looking very tired and dated, AND was very similar to what can be seen in the photos. (Incidentally, whilst it was looking a bit tired, it wasn't a bad deal, fairly cheap for NYC, and in a good location in Midtown, on West 31st street at 5th Ave, 2 blocks from Empire State)
You can clearly hear Buddy's style in that song, without a doubt. First time I've heard it.I like it.
Oh, and how is this for weird? I arrived at the Hotel Wolcott, checked in, and was riding the elevator with 2 other guys. Got talking, and it transpired that they were from.....of all places...Lubbock, Texas.
How strange a coincidence is that?
I swear that that IS a true story.
