While it does seem like it could have been re-arranged for a 2-guitar, bass, and drum arrangement, Buddy never recorded it in that format, nor did he write the tune, so he wouldn't have had it under his fingers, even in an acoustic setting. With limited rehearsal time before the tour, I suspect it was beyond their ability to do the orchestral version justice.

Some great songs are just meant to exist on record, and never intended to be performed live. Had Buddy lived, perhaps we would have seen it performed on Ed Sullivan or another TV show that had an orchestra on staff.
