From every recollection of people that were actually there at the UK shows, The Crickets appearances were close to an all out frenzy, closely comparable to Beatlemania... Disappointed, I don't think so... I'd guess they didn't even give a hoot... I think it's all a made up thing that the Brits were so upset without the backing vocals, because you sure don't hear anyone saying how "disappointed" the US audiences were, or how "disappointed" the Australians were... I bring these audiences up because both got to see The Crickets before the Brits... If there was going to be bad news about no backing vocals, it would have hit these audiences first...
