Rick's speculation about Buddy Holly performing "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" on "The Ed Sullivan Show", which had a studio orchesra, is a very interesting one indeed. Possibly "Raining In My Heart" would have been in another segment, broken up by various acts. Do you think that Buddy would have been dressed in a tuxedo a la Bobby Darin, who made numerous appearances on that show in that fashion? Would he have appeared as a standup act without his guitar, either acoustic or electric? Do you think that might have taken place shortly after Buddy got off the Winter Dance Party Tour? Probably Ed Sullivan would not have referred to him as "Buddy Hollard" this time even though he still might have said "and now for you youngsters..."
