Rick's speculation about Buddy Holly performing "It Doesn't Matter Anymore" on "The Ed Sullivan Show", which had a studio orchesra, is a very interesting one indeed...
Imagine the interview on "The Ed Sullivan Show"- Ed- "Where are the other fellas, Buddy? The Crickets?" Buddy- "We decided to take some time off, to do some different things. I imagine we'll get back together at some point." Ed- "And did you write "It Doesn't Matter Anymore", Buddy?" Buddy- "No, it was my good friend, Paul Anka who wrote it. You know Paul, don't you, Ed?" Ed- "Yes, we know Paul quite well here. Well, Buddy, that was a reely great tune & I think it's going to be reely big!" Buddy- "Thank you very much, Ed."
