 Recently, Don Mclean did a show in my town. I was unable to attend, but I read a review. Don received praise for his performance (including opening with some Buddy Holly tunes) but the reviewer was shocked by the mean spirited tone of some of his onstage comments. He informed the audience that Paul Simon and Bob Dylan had destroyed the fine art of songwriting. I remember reading a review a few years ago, where Don said a famous country singer sounded like he "had his head stuck in a wine press." It seems the author of "american pie" has a tremendous chip on his shoulder.
