 IN the early sixties my mate and I used to frequent the Basildon Mecca in Essex. My mate who was a piano player took up all of Mike's break talking about keyboards. I used to stand and watch Dave Clark while he watched Mike, I was an aspiring drummer but never made the grade but they were great days at the Mecca trying to get a dance with some of the girls there, again I never made the grade.
