 The Ventures did play and film was shown. They performed Walk, Don't Run, and then were joined by horns, keyboard, and tympani for a full-on version of Hawaii Five-O.

John Fogerty inducted the Ventures, Tom Hanks inducted the DC5 (anyone would be unbelievably lucky to have a tribute paid with such fantastic enthusiasm), and the after Joan Jett's lead on Bits and Pieces, John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, and Billy Joel performed the DC5's Glad All Over. I always thought Billy Joel had a voice quite similar to Mike Smith's (listen to the DC5's Over and Over sometime), so I wish he would have taken the lead vocals on either tune, but alas, the two Johns grabbed center stage.
