 Some time ago, I reminded the Hull Daily Mail of the upcoming 50th anniversary of Buddy Holly’s appearance on a Hull stage. Gratifyingly, they printed a two thirds of a page article in the March 19th edition…. well done the Mail. Not a very interesting article, but recognition of the event.

Buddy and the Crickets played the Regal here on March 19th 1958, a Wednesday.

The two little squares are actually the centre pages of the programme! The article actually printed in the paper has the programme more prominent, and readable. I could scan it, but I don’t know how you could post it on here…. can it be done, and is it a document of any interest to anyone?

Also on March 19th 1958, a Hull dentist was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment after pleading guilty to maliciously setting fire to the chemist shop where he worked. (that’s a pharmacy).
