I recall lusting after one of these in the 50's, and it was a tight call between it and Barbara Hillier.
I never got the guitar.
I got an Epiphone Casino in the late 60's because it was a Gibson slimline semi with a similar sound to B.B.King's 335, when played through a Fender Tremolux. I still have both of these after all these years. (at the time, I didn't know that the Beatles had also used these.)
Somewhat later, I did get a strat, because I like the action and the way they play. Both Buddy Holly and Hank Marvin had some influence on me in this, as well as Eric Clapton.
