I disagree, Sid.
One of the best Clovis Music Festivals (of this modern era) consisted almost all Clovis artists.
Sonny West, backed by Johnny Mulhair who first recorded Le Ann Rimes and "Blue", gave what I thought was his best performance ever.
The Fireballs reunited with Jimmy Gilmer with a very good performance. We all thought this was a one and only appearance with them by Jimmy, but they have gone on to do others too.
One of the highlights was reuniting the Sting-A-Longs. They hadn't been together in years, did mostly instrumentals, and all members looked like they were going to throw up ahead of time because of nervousness. What a good show they gave.
None are "too old to cut the mustard, two of those three are still performing today.
IF they would bring in, say, John Mueller and band, and allow the Picks and the Roses and the Tolletts to supply backing vocals where originally used, we'd all love it. (Make sure they are properly miked!)
I'm not saying that ALL of the acts should be Clovis artists, but having some of them each year would greatly help and keep the fans happy. After all, it is the CLOVIS Music Festival.
