Cleftonefan has touched upon the problem I have with this whole business of stars dying in threes. So often it is such a stretch, for example a mega-star like Frank Sinatra dying a few days apart from two actors one has not heard about since the 1950s (I don't know if that happened, but it could serve as a hypothetical example).
Where does one draw the line? What is the time frame? Recently we have witnessed the deaths of Bob Bogle, Sky Saxon, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Gale Storm, and Fred Travelena. I realize that the first two are only known in the Rock 'n' Roll or Rock world, but can one honestly say that five out of the seven were not legitimate stars, known by most people?
Carl Sagan sure had it right: "The Demon-Haunted World", the intense psychological need many of us have to believe in the paranormal.
