In reply to JC - for me , the music of Michael Jackson is what mattered which was brilliant - if you do not like it thats fine - each to their own -I have a very wide taste in all type of music

On the subject of turning himself white -Have you ever heard of the condition VITILIGO ??? -Probably not -In easy terms for you !!!, it is where some parts of your skin has no pigment and your skin is white - this produces problems when out in strong sun as you can get sunburnt very easily
I have had VITILIGO for almost 40 years but it has not stopped me from running marathons and being a runner for over 30 years
But I cover up and use Factor 50 sunblock -I am white so it does not show as much as it would for others
Michael Jackson had Vitiligo so you can imagine the problems of being black / coloured with white patches on your skin -This could be one of the reasons he wanted his face to be white -But Thats only my opinion -
VITILIGO is a very common condition by the way , the majority of us just get on with life and accept it but I suppose it affects some more than others especially during childhood /adolescence
