Chas, you sure know how to damn a guy with faint praise - if I remember rightly wasn't the grandfather played by Wilfred Brambell? I'm not sure that would be my choice of role model.
I like Sid as well, even though I often don't understand what he says, let alone agree with him. I particularly like the way he bounces back after taking a good kicking, usually with good grace and self deprecating humour. His criticisms of the Crickets are a bit wearing but I think half the time he's seeing how far he can wind us up. Best not to fall for it.
He's entitled to his opinions and he doesn't make personal attacks on other posters. Pity he never played on that record though!
