If only this was true about Norman.
Sadly, as we now know, Norman kept hardly any tapes once he had the "master" version of a song. He reused them all, even to the point of reusing the tapes sent from New York with the 2 alternate wtakes of Rave On. He wipe dthemto reuse the tape - tape was expensive back then
The session out takes that have survived did so purely by luck.
Norman wiped / resued almost everything.
Surely it is probable that The Crickets rehearsed Cindy Lou before getting to Clovis and even when at Clovis would have had some run throughs of it before the tapes rolled - it was therefore probably at this popint that the name was changed (?)
