<a rel=nofollow target=_blank href="http://www.tributes.com/obituary/show/Jerry-Wardell-Mack-106002676">http://www.tributes.com/obituary/show/Jerry-Wardell-Mack-106002676</a>

Jerry W Mack fell asleep in death on April 6th at home and now is safe in Jehovah’s memory. Jerry is survived by his wife, Sheri Porter Mack; his daughters, Terri Mack, Sheri Sides; 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren; his sister, Jean Mack-Bettelyoun and two nieces.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter. After high school Jerry began a musical career as Dart Ward and the Cutups. He wrote and recorded Q-T-cute and Misery for RIP Records.

He performed on American Bandstand twice. He opened for Eddie Cochran and Ritchie Valens, among other famous artists.

After the performance of the Winter Dance Party in 1959, due to illness, Jerry relinquished his plane ticket to Waylon Jennings, who in turn passed his plane ticket to The Big Bopper. The rest is history.

During Jerry’s battle with Alzheimer’s, he continued to have rhythm and entertain everyone with his whistling and dancing. Jerry served in the Navy and was stationed on the U.S.S. Swordfish. Jerry worked at Hughes Aircraft, starting as Howard Hughes’ chauffeur, changing to truck driver and ending as Supervisor of Transportation. Due to a major auto accident, Jerry retired and pursued his love of cars.

Jerry’s love of cars started as a child and may have come from his Grandpa, co-founder of Mack Trucks. As a teen, Jerry restored his first car and continued to collect and restore cars and model cars throughout his lifetime. Contributions may be made to Partners In Care Hospice, 2075 NE Wyatt Court, Bend, Or 97701.

Memorial services for Jerry will be held on 4-28-2018 at 4:30 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on 61966 SE 27th Street, Bend, Or 97701. The family would like to express their gratitude to Partners In Care Hospice and his wonderfully dedicated caregiver, Debe Eberitzsch
