None taken Frank. We all Have our opinions, don't we. I could have lived without the strings too, as it happens.
I did stress BRITISH rnr favourite, and the competition in that category is pretty thin.
RnR was an American thing, stemming from American cultures and history that we British simply didn't have. We liked it, but weren't very good at it. Also, the British producers didn't want it, so some British rnr performers who might have done something didn't get to do so.
And you are absolutely correct. No British rock records made a dent in the USA.
