 Thanks for clearing the air. Ed Sullivan was always stumbling over his words. He was a newspaper man not a TV person. But he was the best at bringing teen music to TV audiences. If r&b and r&r gained respectability with white parents, Ed merits much of the credit.


I would say that while Steve Allen disliked rock & roll, it seemed to me that his Be Bop A Lula bit was done strictly for the laughs.
