Chase, Your excellent posting pretty much says it all (A-1). These particular times, in America, were very critical concerning the future of R&R as the parents had very strict control over the bucks that their kids could spend on an Elvis, Holly or a black performer's 45. Elvis, along with Pat Boone, opened the doors for many black performers by coming across as nice guys on national TV. Since I never missed an Ed show on Sunday nights I don't recall anything unusual concerning BH? The thing I do recall is that he looked extremely frail along with the other members being out of place. The next thing was Holly rushing to clamp a capo on his guitar neck? Being the professional he was...he made it in time for his next number.
