"A House, A Car, And A Wedding Ring" was originally done by Dale Hawkins in the Fall of 1958. The other side was called "My Babe", one of the several versions of the Willie Dixon number. When I met Dale Hawkins last year, he confirmed that Ronnie Hawkins is his first cousin as their fathers are brothers.
They came from different states but both had backup bands called the Hawks. Ronnie's group got label credit on Roulette; Dale's did not on Checker.
