 The Mike Preston sub-plot in this thread shows one of the great charms of this board - two Americans who really know their stuff debating details of an inconsequential British singer that most of us here have completely forgotten! I don't even remember the record in question.

Preston is best remembered here for his cover of the Fleetwoods' Mr Blue, number 12 in 1959.

His last hit was called Marry Me and began "Let's have a gay time........". This doesn't get played much now.

We had countless singers like him - bland, forgettable and usually relying on American hits to cover.
