Oh come on HK, let's not get all "Rock n Roll purist" about things.
Buddy was every bit as much "Pop" as he was "Rock n Roll".
That's what made him different.
Likewise, calling The Beatles JUST a pop band or a BRITISH BEAT band does them an injustice.
The reason I love Buddy Holly and The Beatles is precisely because of the many musical genre's they explored in their catalogue's and because they were never afraid to experiment within their ranges.
The Beatles overrated? No, they have the right amount of respect for the achievements they made.
Sadly, Buddy should be rated at the same level and he isn't. But that's the media's problem, not The Beatles' problem.
