People have a marked tendency to equate the term "overrated" with "no gd good", and they are in no way the same. Personally myself I feel Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and the Beatles are all overrated, that is because they were the subject of manias, which the record industry thrives on, and got inordinate publicity. That is not to say they were not great, which they were. Overrated means to me that there is a tendency to regard them as soooooo much better than everyone else, at least a thousand times, which I don't believe that they were. Overrated in the sense that most understand it to be would most apply as far as I'm concerned to a performer like Madonna Ciccone, who has an average musical talent, but whose main ability is in marketing contrived controversy.
