Whislt i agree with the second part of your statement i can only agree with the Sinatra bit of the first part.
Elvis and The Beatles were indeed subjects of manias but for good reason IMO. Both MUST be classed as forerunners in their field .... Elvis in Rock N Roll The Beatles in pop. Both came at times when the industry was crying out for something fresh and exciting. Both acts ticked the right boxes. Sinatra was a massive no talent (again IMO)
I'm not a big fan of The Beatles but i can recognise the massive impact they (i say they but i really should be saying Lennon And McCartney) had on musical and recording boundaries in general. (Check out the book "Here, There and Everywhere" by Geoff Emerick The Beatles' recording engineer if you're at all interested in their recording techniques)
