Well, if you are going to call "Frankie Blue Eyes" a no talent then you might want to apply that to Elvis as well. If you are basing this statement solely on creativity then Elvis surely falls into the "no talent" category. How could I make such a "blasphemous" statement? Elvis never wrote any of his hits. He was very much limited in his guitar abilities, certainly was no Scotty Moore. He couldn’t really act, not by the standards we hold our Hollywood “stars” to. He could sing and drive the girls crazy but that’s about it. Now my for my personal opinion. I enjoy both Elvis and Frank. I think both of them have a wonderful singing voice and were good at their craft. Which leads me to a point: Is the ability to sing well not considered to be a talent? Not everyone can sing, let alone sing well, which sets those that can apart from others. The dictionary defines talent as : noun
A special natural ability or aptitude. singing
A capacity for achievement or success. The ability to sing well and achieve success through such action
So by definition both Elvis and Frank Sinatra were talented. I guess to make a long post short there certainly are many entertainers out there who are/were by far more talented or had/have more “natural abilities” than either of the above. So to call either of them a no talent is incorrect. Maybe to state they had less abilities than others would be more appropriate. If you were to categorize entertainers on their natural aptitude and then rate them based on the number of abilities these artists possessed Elvis would certainly rate very low if compared to the likes of Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton, certain members of U2 the list goes on and on. Oh, what does IMO stand for? Is it an acronym fot in my opinion?
