 If memory serves Donnie, I think Lennon may have alluded to going ‘full circle’ with his R&R album in the posthumously published ‘Playboy’ interview with him…cant quite remember,…Just like him to chose ‘Playboy’ to do a definitive interview!…he certainly referenced his R&R roots and musical influence in that interview….The interview its self gives an excellent insight into the workings of the Lennon-McCartney writing machine, ….as to ‘who wrote what’ …and how little in fact the two of them sat down and actually composed together. One of the most impressive Rock/Pop interviews I have ever read.
