;) Thanks Randy! As Brett & dlee and the other guitarists on the board would agree, Buddy's stratocaster was stock. It was never customized by Buddy or for Buddy. The only thing "custom" about it is the cracked pickup covers. But I see the signature model has the cap on the selector switch, which Buddy's strat did not. Clearly, it either broke off or he took it off from bumping it. (I think the former given that his later strats by photos all had theirs.)
Is this being nitpicky? It sure is, but should be expected when the guitar costs $11k, claiming to be modeled off of Buddy's Fender Stratocaster. Either it's a replica of his famous strat, the one he did most of his Clovis stuff on, or it isn't. This clearly isn't.
Then again, as said ealier in the thread, this is for suits to display in their offices, not for your average picker.
