The point I took from Tom's post is that it's just bad form to boast of having incredible items and artifacts over a number of years without at least having the items confirmed by a nuetral 3rd party.
Of course all fans of Buddy and classic 50's rock will always desire to see and hear new things, that is human nature. Though I can appreciate and agree with your point about keeping certain items private, in particular if one has recorded or taken the photograph themselves, it just seems a little mean to speak of such items with no intent to share.
One non Holly item I would love to see with my own eyes is the colour film of Elvis in New York circa 1956. Why has that remained such secret?
