In those days, one dollar was about five shillings (we used to call five shillings 'a dollar') so that puts American records a bit cheaper, although that means nothing without knowing wage levels, cost of living etc.
I think what we can say in all three of these countries is that the post-war recovery and rising prosperity helped develop teenagers as a consumer class and greatly contributed to the commercial success of rock and roll.
We just need one more oldie contributing here and we'll have a Rockin' 50s equivalent of the 'Four Yorkshiremen' sketch!
